5 Star Champions | January 2020
Each month we feature five winners and connect their stories to the 5 Star principle they best represent.
Jennifer Tooley, Community Group (Virginia)
Nominated by Ilia Passabet: Jennifer is our receptionist and she constantly impresses me with her many skills. She knows a bit of everyone’s’ position in our large office and handles all requests very efficiently. Many of her daily tasks are critical to our office running smoothly so we can best serve our clients. Jennifer is also very skilled with handling challenging homeowner situations whether over the phone or at our office. I can go on and on about all that Jennifer does to serve our colleagues and our clients. Jessica is truly our super star and needs to be reminded more often.
Jennifer, thank you for your commitment to serving others and communicating effectively.
5-Star Value: Communicate Effectively
Melissa Chavez, Canyon Gate (New Mexico)
Nominated by Kim Corcoran: Melissa is an awesome example of someone who lives out our company values every day. We recently onboarded a large account and the mailing addresses were not entered into C3 properly which caused billing issues for many of the homeowners. Many have been contacting us about this issue and Melissa has taken every call and responded to every email with a high level of attention, ensuring them we will get this issue resolved. I appreciate Melissa's professionalism and care when serving our clients and I know they will be won over once everything gets straightened out!
Melissa, thank you for your commitment to our clients and owning the resolution!
5-Star Value: Owning the resolution
Janet Calero, Associa Gulf Coast (Florida)
Nominated by Richard Barba: We recently received a letter from an association’s treasurer, expressing his appreciation for Janet’s outstanding service: “I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation for the quality of service and support Janet has provided me over the last four years. I am not a CPA or an accountant so my “learning curve” has been steep with respect to the financial statements, budget, etc. The fact that I have successfully waded through financial issues is in large part due to her gracious customer service - even when I have asked the same question multiple times. No matter, Janet is always there to instruct, advise, encourage, and keep me from making mistakes. In short, Janet is the epitome of professionalism and is an outstanding representative of your organization.”
Janet, thank you for your continued dedication to serving our clients and exercising leadership!
5-Star Value: Exercise Leadership
Cheng Shi, CSSC (Texas)
Nominated by Kathryn Davenport (McKay Management): I sent Cheng a very lengthy and detailed email trying to explain the way the Board wanted to see certain expenses and payments presented. Cheng took the time to explain my options in a way that I could understand and that would appease the Board.
Cheng, thank you for supporting our branch partners so that we can build solid relationships.
5-Star Value: Build Relationships
Eva Kerbow, Home Office (Texas)
Nomination by Tricia Tremblay (Evergreen Management Group): Eva's attention to detail and the assistance she has provided the Evergreen Management Group team has been terrific. She is always available when needed and never seems to be frustrated with my endless questions. Eva is truly a pleasure to work with!
Thank you, Eva, for demonstrating care and supporting the Associa family!
