ASSESS TRAFFIC
PROTOCOLS
It's normal for communities to experience
increased traffic when schools are back
in session. To prevent road hazards, now
is the time for HOA boards to assess their
community's traffic conditions.
Complete a full inspection of the roadways in
and around the neighborhood to check that:
• Traffic signs and signals are clearly visible
• School zones are properly marked
• School buses can safely navigate the roads
• There are no areas where speeding or
backups occur
If you have concerns, work with local officials to
find a solution before the school year is in full
swing. You should also inform homeowners of
speed limits and other road safety protocols in
your newsletter, on your website, and through
your social media accounts.
