ISSUE: CLASH OF
PERSONALITIES
ACTIVITY: VOLUNTEER
Serving on an HOA board isn't always as easy
as it seems. Sometimes, personalities clash and
disrupt the harmony of the board. If your board
members are struggling to come to a place of
common good, opt for some volunteer time.
Partner with a volunteer organization to build
a home for a deserving family or help out at a
local hospital or shelter. Take it a step further
and pair your volunteer efforts with a fundraiser
or clothing or food drive to support a local non-
profit.
WHY IT WORKS: As community leaders, the
board sets an example for the rest of the
association and what better way to encourage
a sense of community than to help others?
By incorporating service into your HOA board
activities, you're not only making a difference
in the community, but also encouraging social
awareness and activism.
