4. GET APPROVALS
After making revisions, you may need the board's
support to move forward. Although board members
are typically involved in the amendment process,
some may not participate in the revision writing or
be on the document review committee. Call a board
meeting to present and discuss the amendments
and confirm everyone is on the same page through
an official Board Motion.
While the board can sometimes approve
amendments before notifying residents of the
change, there are strict notification timelines
you may need to follow. Refer to your governing
documents and consult your HOA or COA attorney to
determine what approvals are required at this stage.
