3. REVISE THE DOCUMENTS
With direction from your HOA or COA attorney, draft the desired changes to
your governing documents. Make sure they address the community's needs and
goals—you want the changes to benefit the association and enhance the living
experience.
Examples of amendments you might make to your governing documents include:
• Updating old HOA rules or procedures
• Clarifying vague or insufficient language in the articles of agreement,
declaration, bylaws, and rules and regulations
• Removing or replacing items that don't hold value for the association
• Adding new rules to represent current community needs
