INCONSISTENT
ENFORCEMENT
Board members have a fiduciary duty to
act in the best interest of the community
and avoid biases and personal agendas.
If a board member abuses their power
and practices favoritism towards one
individual or wrongly targets a resident
with enforcement, the community can
lose credibility and face other risks.
Ignoring some delinquencies and not
others can disrupt much more than your
budget. Embrace fairness and establish
a formal policy that explains the process
for managing violations. Make sure
homeowners are aware of the policy and
board members follow it precisely.
