5. PET RULES
An HOA can decide if it allows members
to own and house pets. While many
HOAs are pet-friendly, pet rules exist
to keep grounds presentable and to
support respectful neighborly behavior. A
community's pet rules might regulate:
• Height, weight, and size of the pet
• Number of pets per household
• Species of pets allowed
• Breed of dogs or cats allowed
• Picking up pet waste
• Where to walk pets
• Keeping pets outside
• Keeping pets on leashes
