COMMUNITY'S
RULES ARE
REASONABLE.
Part of living in an HOA is accepting
and following a set of rules that help
the community thrive. Typically, rules
include landscaping and maintenance
regulations, common area usage
guidelines, noise limitations, and other
standards that maintain order.
While HOA rules are usually helpful,
excessive restrictions can place undue
hardship on residents. Unreasonable
or unclear rules can lead to frustration,
disputes between residents and the
board, and a lower quality of living.
When amending or proposing rules,
check that they are fair, legal, and
enforceable. Homeowners are more
likely to follow HOA rules that are
reasonable and necessary to support the
community's goals.
