8 6. ADOPT AMENDED DOCUMENTS Once the necessary parties approve the amendment, the association can officially make the changes. To do this: • Obtain a final legal review of the latest version of the amendment • Notify residents that the amendment has passed • Record the changes and update the governing documents • When necessary, file the change with your county recorder's office, as requirements vary by state While amendments to your covenants, conditions, & restrictions (CC&Rs) must be recorded with local government entities, changes to rules and regulations may not need to be filed at the recorder's office.
