2. SCHEDULE
A COMMUNITY
FORUM
At a board meeting, board members conduct the
business of the association and discuss operations,
policies, maintenance reports, and more. To
encourage resident attendance and participation,
schedule an open forum during this meeting, so
homeowners can take the floor and directly share
feedback on topical issues.
Add the open forum to the meeting agenda and
establish a time limit for each speaker. Set ground
rules and share expectations for forum contributors.
Maintain formality and professionalism during
the open forum to establish a level of respect and
structure that keeps speakers on topic.
Best suited for feedback on:
• HOA leadership concerns
• Community projects
• Elections or board decisions
It's essential that you handle comments with patience
and understanding. Even if you don't agree, let
homeowners know that you hear them, appreciate
their passion, and will discuss the issue further.
