1. Make the donuts by preheating oven to 400°F.
2. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder,
baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and
cloves until well combined.
3. In another large bowl, mix the melted butter, light
brown sugar, maple syrup, eggs, sour cream, milk,
and vanilla extract.
4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet. Whisk until
smooth with no lumps.
5. Spoon or pipe about 1 heaping tablespoon of maple
donut batter into each of the greased cavities of a
6-count donut pan.
6. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, until the tops bounce
back quickly when lightly pressed.
7. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes before
transferring to a cooling rack.
8. Meanwhile, make the maple glaze by whisking the
powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and
milk in a bowl until smooth and combined.
9. Dip cooled maple donuts into the maple glaze.
Gently shake off any excess icing, and transfer to a
cooling rack.
10. Let rest for 1-2 minutes and top with chopped
pecans. Allow the donuts to set for 1 hour before
serving.
