1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a large bowl, cream lard, slowly adding water until
almost all of it has been absorbed.
3. Mix in sugar until smooth.
4. Add cinnamon and anise seed.
5. Add flour until the mixture is stiff enough to shape
with your hand.
6. Roll dough out to about ½-inch thickness. Cut into
small cookie shapes.
7. Bake until brown, about 15 minutes.
8. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and enjoy!
2 lbs pure lard
2 cups water
2 cups sugar (plus more for topping)
2 Tbsp cinnamon (plus more for topping)
2 Tbsp anise seed
16 cups flour
