Generally, HOAs in the United States
are required to provide all documents
and disclosures to a new owner upon
request. However, an HOA does not have
to automatically submit many, if not all, of
these forms before a home sale is finalized.
Canadian community associations may
work similarly. And while the HOA structure
in Mexico is different from that of the U.S.
and Canada, a regimen de condominio is
a legal form that details the existence of a
building and legally describes the exclusive
ownership into individual units. A homebuyer
may want to review it before purchasing.
