Ongoing Health and Safety Considerations
Boards should be prepared to continue to engage in ongoing
health and safety measures during the length of the pandemic.
This process includes monitoring municipal, state and provincial,
and federal guidelines on the pandemic, continuing social
distancing and sanitation protocols in the community, and taking
action to open and close amenities as local conditions demand.
Monitoring local, state and provincial guidelines
One challenge boards face is the federal response to the pandemic.
States and provinces – and even localities – are pursuing different
strategies for containing the spread of the virus. Board should
monitor federal, state and provincial, and local pandemic guidance
to ensure they are up to date on the latest information.
Boards can use guidelines issued by local health authorities to
help determine if it's safe to open amenities and, if so, how best to
proceed. Additionally, as events evolve, boards may need to reclose
amenities based on local conditions.
