6. CHECK THE SPRINKLER
SYSTEM
Confirm the sprinkler system functions correctly so the summer heat doesn't dry out your
plants, flowers, and grass.
Check the sprinkler system for underground water leaks and broken sprinkler heads that
can waste water—and money. Make sure sprinkler heads are correctly aligned and properly
placed so they aren't watering the sidewalk or street instead of the grass. The best times to
have sprinklers on are in the morning or the evening before dark, so set the sprinkler timer
accordingly.
