6 TIP 4: LEARN TO DELEGATE. Board members are never alone in their efforts to improve and maintain their community. Delegating responsibilities, like maintenance or accounting, can help a community thrive. First work with your board to determine what services can be outsourced, and then find trusted partners to ensure things are handled in a timely and professional manner. Remember to always to use your business judgment and vet each partner carefully. Ask for references and referrals when possible— it's essential to confirm contractors have the experience and resources to back up their promises to your community.
