CHAPTER 3:
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Community associations are run by volunteer residents elected by community members.
Known as the board of directors, this group is tasked with critical community duties,
including enforcing rules, overseeing finances, and maintaining shared spaces. Almost
all boards have four officers—president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. These
leaders keep the community running smoothly and residents engaged and satisfied.
