BYLAWS
Bylaws serve as the formal rulebook
for the association's administration and
day-to-day management. The bylaws
contain information on the powers and
duties of the association, the board, and
the management company. Items like
meeting requirements, voting rights, and
election procedures are also addressed.
DECLARATION OR CODES,
COVENANTS, & RESTRICTIONS (CC&Rs)
The CC&Rs are
the community's
most important and comprehensive
documents. They're legally filed
and outline the rights of the board,
association, and residents. They
usually have a legal description of the
common areas and amenities, financial
requirements, maintenance obligations,
and remodeling and development
restrictions.
RULES & REGULATIONS
The rules and regulations are an
internal document that spells out the
community's general guidelines. Longer
and more flexible than the CC&Rs, this is
where details about things like parking,
fence heights, and pets live.
