4. Plan the event like a pro.
Once all of the basics are covered, you're ready to plan the actual event. Most
people plan for the key details: time, place, food, drink, entertainment and
theme or occasion. To help you remember all the small details that sometimes
get overlooked, we've compiled a list of event planning tips.
EVENT PLANNING PRO TIPS
• Determine the quickest and easiest route for an emergency vehicle to
reach your event. Communicate this to all planners before the event.
• Depending on the type of event, plan for plenty of seating. (You could
even ask homeowners to bring lawn chairs to an outdoor event.)
• For outdoor events, pick a shady location or create shade with portable
canopies.
• Ensure convenient access to food by setting it up in a way that won't
force attendees to block walkways or amenities while they're going
through the line.
• Ask homeowners to help by bringing music or lawn games
• Include a rain date on your invitations in case of inclement weather

If residents:
• request a kosher meal: work with your caterer to provide
an option
• are vegetarian: have a vegetarian dish available
upon request
• are attending a concert or show: allow anyone with
vision, hearing or mobility problems to enter the room first
• have motion sickness: place them in the front during
bus trips
