STRATEGIES
While communities may work to prevent violations by offering a variety of solutions, like
temporary parking permits and day passes, not everyone follows the rules. Consequences
for non-compliance can include:
• A warning. Upon an initial violation, those who have parked illegally might receive a
written warning.
• A fine or parking ticket. If a parking violation is not corrected after a warning, HOAs will
likely move on to giving the offender a fine or a parking ticket.
• Towing. As a last resort, vehicles may be towed at a homeowner's expense.
