CAN AVOID
A PARKING
VIOLATION
As a resident of a community association, you
can avoid parking violations by following your
community's rules. Make sure to:
• Read the governing documents. Review
your community's policies and any relevant
local and state laws to learn the parking
rules that apply to your community.
• Follow posted signs and directions. Read
the nearby signage wherever you park to be
aware of time limits, fire lanes, and other
restrictions.
• Communicate with leadership. If your
vehicle breaks down or you know it'll
be disabled for an extended period,
communicate with a board member or
community manager to get guidance on
next steps.
• Keep guests informed. Your visitors can't
follow the rules if they don't know them.
Share your community's parking rules with
guests before they arrive, so they know
where to park and what to do to protect
their vehicles.
