FALL HOA
MAINTENANCE TIPS
With winter on the way, fall is a time for preventative
care. Take advantage of fall's agreeable
temperatures and winterize your community,
repairing, replacing, and updating the components
and structures that are most susceptible to the cold.
For fall, your maintenance plan should include:
• Preparing buildings for wet weather. Clear
gutters and clean out storm drains to ready
these components for the increased water
flow from snow.
• Winterproofing outdoor pipes and water
fixtures. Reinforce insulation and consider
winterproofing faucets with covers to
decrease the impact of the cold.
• Repairing your pool after summer use. Test
your pool's chemical balance, check the filters,
and make sure the heater is up and running
before shutting down your pool for the winter.
• Assess tree health. Trim all trees to remove
broken or dead branches and consult with an
arborist if any trees appear unhealthy.
• Inspecting community heating systems.
Prepare fireplaces and update HVAC systems
to keep residents warm.
• Addressing issues in high-traffic areas.
Secure handrails, repair uneven pavement, and
inspect outdoor lighting to ensure outdoor
areas are safe for residents.
