THE JOB OF AN
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW
COMMITTEE
A community association's architectural review committee is a group of owners
responsible for interpreting the community's architectural guidelines and
overseeing architectural changes submitted by residents. Depending on the
community, it may also be called an architectural review board or architectural
control committee. The ARC ensures that home or unit modifications and
improvements meet community architectural standards and maintain the integrity
of the neighborhood.
It's the job of an architectural review committee to walk through an architectural
review process efficiently. The architectural review process is the system used
to review and approve or deny architectural requests from association members.
Many associations provide a standard form for homeowners to submit an
architectural request.
