1. Combine all ingredients, except the nuts and
chocolate, in a frying pan.
2. Turn heat to high and stir in one direction until the
mix darkens and bubbles, about 10 minutes.
3. Quickly stir in nuts. Pour mixture onto a greased
cookie sheet and spread evenly with a spatula.
4. Sprinkle broken chocolate pieces over the heated
mixture and spread as they melt.
5. Place in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
6. Break the toffee into pieces and store in the
refrigerator.
1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
3 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp light corn syrup
5 oz almonds or walnuts, sliced
8 oz milk chocolate bar, broken into pieces
