1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl with a wooden spoon.
3. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, buttermilk, and margarine.
4. Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir to combine. Add raisins and
stir again.
5. Pour mixture into a greased 10-inch cast-iron skillet. Cut an X across the top.
6. Bake for 1-1½ hours.
7. Cool, slice, top with butter, and enjoy.
5 cups flour
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2 Tbsp caraway seeds
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 pint buttermilk
4 Tbsp margarine, melted
3 handfuls raisins
