REVIEW
IMPORTANT
DOCUMENTS
As we head into spring, take time to review
essential HOA documents with your fellow
board members, including:
• HOA governing documents. A refresh
session of your governing documents
allows board members to review their
responsibilities and ensure plans align with
overall community goals. Regular reviews
also provide an opportunity to update the
governing documents with new rules or
regulations that impact the community.
• Amenity permits. Some HOA amenities
need up-to-date permits or certificates for
safe use. For example, state laws generally
require community pools, playgrounds,
and fitness centers to meet industry safety
standards. Schedule inspections to keep
necessary permits and certificates current.
• Vendor contracts. Review vendor contract
terms, schedules, insurance coverage, and
pricing details to verify that services are
adequate for your association. It may be
time to update service requirements and
timelines for the new season.
