11 HOW ARE VIOLATIONS CONTESTED? To contest a violation, an association should have a hearing process in place. At a violation hearing, the offender will have the option to present their argument and evidence to the HOA board to overturn the violation. Following the hearing, the board will render their decision. If the outcome of the hearing isn't suitable to the offender, there may be additional steps that person can take to appeal, depending on the community's bylaws and laws. 7 6 5 4 8 9 10 11 3 12 C
