HOW ARE HOA
VIOLATIONS REPORTED?
HOA violations are most often reported by
the board, community manager, or covenants
enforcement committee after an inspection.
However, homeowners may also report violations.
Details on how to report a violation are outlined in
a violations policy. Typically, an HOA homeowner
can fill out and submit a hard-copy form to their
community manager or board. Some managed
communities may also request violations be
reported via the community's website or app. To
report someone for non-compliance, include the
following information:
• The party responsible for the violation
• What the HOA violation is
• When the violation occurred
(times and dates)
• The property address (or location)
of the violation
