Governing Documents As a leader, it's crucial to stay diligent about checking new laws and preparing for their impact. Legislative Updates • Revise outdated communication requirements, ambiguous or missing information, and vague language. • Review existing rules and regulations and identify areas that may need adjustment. • Create processes to amend the regulations that don't hold value for the association. • Verify documents are correctly filed and easily accessible to the necessary parties. • Make necessary changes and clear up misinformation, working with an association attorney for guidance. • Determine if any new laws or ordinances have gone into effect and make adjustments to guarantee compliance. • Consult your association's lawyer before moving forward. • Consider all aspects of the community, including maintenance, financials, communication, insurance, and management. • Ensure end-of-year goals comply with existing or new legislation on the federal, provincial, state, and local levels.
